Barrie Hayes, MSLS, Bioinformatics and Translational Science Librarian: Library Liaison for Bioinformatics and Translational Science/TraCS
Barrie is the Library Liaison for Bioinformatics and Translational Science at the UNC-Chapel Hill Health Science Library (HSL) providing outreach and educational services to bioinformatics researchers and to NC TraCS, the university’s Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) unit. She is the HSL Coordinator for the Health and Natural Sciences Team and serves as co-chair of the UNC Libraries Data Management Committee.
Barrie has a background in information services, online resources and digital library development, and managed HSL's Application Development Services Department prior to taking on the Bioinformatics Librarian role in 2007. She held an internship at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences Library before coming to the UNC Health Sciences Library in 1995.
