ARTH383: Modern Architecture (Bauer)

The Sloane Art Library has a number of excellent resources both online and in the library for researching modern architecture. On the second floor, the entire "NA" section is devoted to books on architecture.Keep in mind, if we don't have it at the Sloane, we can most likely get it for you!  Our neighbors at NCSU have a fantastic Architecture & Design Library and UNC students are able to borrow books from their library and others all over the country. (See the "Art & Architecture Libraries and Books" box below.)  For more resources, check out our main Art & Architecture guide:

TIP Architectural drawings are critical resources for researching buildings and landscapes. Here are tips for finding architectural drawings in books and in magazine/journal articles.

Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals When you get to the Avery Index search screen, enter the name of the buildng you are researching and then find the "Physical Description" menu below the search box about half-way down the page. Use this feature to limit your search to the type of drawing you want to locate.

The Sloane Art Library has two flatbed scanners available for you to use on the first floor, in case the images you need can only be found in print.
