Immigration Law Resources

This guide focuses on legal resources that may be useful for students working with the Immigration Clinic at the UNC School of Law. Specifically, it spotlights agencies and materials that are related to the Clinic’s representation of immigrant clients in the areas of asylum, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and U-visas.

Federal immigration law in these areas derives from statutes, so it is important to be aware of the current statutory and regulatory authority. It is also important to check for forms and other guidance from the relevant federal agencies.

This guide highlights general sources first, then provides sections specific to the areas of asylum, VAWA and U-visas.

For question about immigration law that are beyond the scope of this guide, researchers should contact the Reference Librarians.
