Switching Citation Managers

This guide will outline how to switch to a new citation manager like RefWorks, Endnote, Zotero, or Mendeley

Introduction

We at the Health Sciences Library encourage all our students to use citation managers to help them store citations, keep notes, and insert properly formatted citations and bibliographies into their papers. Whether you use RefWorks, Endnote, Zotero, or Mendeley, citation managers can make the research and writing process easier.

But each citation manager has its strengths and weaknesses. If you need help picking a citation manager, then please consult the table below which provides an overview of each citation manager. The time may come when you feel that another manager will better suit your needs. This guide will outline the steps that you need to go through in order to switch from one citation manager to another. Since the process for switching from one to another is generally very simple, there is no downside to choosing the perfect product for you.
