REACH NC is made possible through a unique collaboration among public and private sector partners. Our thanks to all partners for making this unique and valuable tool a reality.
Founding University Partners
NC State and UNC-Chapel Hill seeded the REACH NC system with data on over 3,000 researchers in the life sciences and engineering. The leadership of these institutions paved the way for other University of North Carolina campuses and the future planned releases of thousands more faculty profiles and data. Data on Duke researchers, departments and colleges are projected to be integrated into the system in late 2012.
Managing Partner
RENCI (Renaissance Computing Institute), is building the data backbone for REACH NC and developing protocols for user access and management and storage. In addition, RENCI is seeking funding to support the development of advanced visualization tools that will help REACH NC users find connections across disciplines and institutions by visually grouping experts with others of similar or complimentary backgrounds.

The North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences (NC TraCS) Institute at UNC-CH is one of 55 medical research institutions working together as a national consortium to improve the way biomedical research is conducted across the country. The consortium, funded through the NIH Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA), shares a common vision to reduce the time it takes for laboratory discoveries to become treatments for patients, and to engage communities in clinical research efforts. It also is fulfilling the critical need to train a new generation of clinical researchers.

REACH NC is currently working to expand its searchable portal by adding profiles of faculty from five rural universities, thanks in part to a grant from the Golden LEAF Foundation.
