Federal Student Aid Comprehensive Website

Federal Student Aid from the U.S. Department of Education is the largest source of aid in America, providing over $150 billion in grants, work-study, and federal loans for students attending four-year colleges or universities, community colleges, and career schools.

This comprehensive website is organized into sections to understand aid, apply for aid, complete and process your aid, and to manage your loans whether you are considering school, in school, a parent, or in repayment.

You may be eligible for multiple financial programs and, often, you may use multiple benefits at once; however some may conflict, forcing you to choose which to utilize.  When in doubt about what you qualify for or which sources you can use together, check!

State Higher Education Agencies

These agencies administer state educational fellowships, grants, and loans.  After the US government, states are the next largest source of educational funding. 

CFNC.org (College Foundation of North Carolina)
College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) is a free service of the State of North Carolina that helps students plan, apply, and pay for college. CFNC is a partnership of Pathways, the N.C. State Education Assistance Authority, and College Foundation, Inc.
