English 57 - 001: First Year Seminar: The Future, Fall 2014 (Prof. Matthew Taylor)

Selecting Appropriate Subject Databases

Because of the broad range of possible future-related topics that can be chosen for the final project, it may be necesary to look at various subject databases to find the appropriate literature on your topic.  The easiest way to approach this is by first looking at  E-Research by Discipline. For example, depending on your topic, you might want to look at databases in areas as diverse as Journalism and Mass Communication, MedicineEnvironmental StudiesPeace, War, and Defense, or Computer Science

Generally, within these subject categories, the Recommended Databases will include some of the major databases for that discipline.

To get a fuller description of each database, use the [info] link, e.g. for the database Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management
