How do I check out equipment?

To use MEJO equipment for coursework, do the following:

  1. Make a reservation in the online booking system, Connect2.
    • Log in with your Onyen. 
  2. Use this page for help navigating Connect2. 
    • Look at the video tutorials in the left-hand column for brief how-tos for various tasks in Connect2.
    • Read "How do I reserve equipment in Connect2" below for step-by-step instructions on making a booking.
  3. If you have additional questions, contact Park Library.
  4. Come to Park Library - with your OneCard! - at the time of your booking appointment to pick up your equipment. 
  5. Make sure you know when your equipment is due!
    • Write the due date down somewhere you will see it!
    • Pay attention to your email notifications from Connect2!
  6. Return equipment to Park Library on time. 

Park Library does not loan out equipment for internships, independent studies, or campus-affiliated marketing unless associated with the Hussman School and approved by a faculty member. 

How do I reserve equipment in Connect2?

This box contains step-by-step instructions for reserving equipment in Connect2. Take a look at the box to the left for brief video tutorials about specific actions. 

  1. Click on "Book by Category" in the navigation bar or on the blue "Book MJ Equipment" button in the middle of the main page image.

  2. Find a resource in any of the following ways: TIP: Do not navigate away from this section. If you click on Home or on Book by Category again or otherwise leave this area, your basket will be cleared.
    1. Search: enter a keyword in the search bar at the top left (e.g.: 181, Canon, lens, mic, light)
    2. Browse: use the hierarchy under Category in the left side panel. Click down through the options
    3. Suitable Use: this additional filter allows you to browse lenses by common shoot types
  3. Select resources:
    1. After you locate the item you want to reserve, click the button Add to Basket to the right of the resource
    2. You may also click the resource name to see its details and then click Add to Basket from the details page
    3. After adding a resource to your basket, you can continue browsing, view your basket contents or click Create booking
  4. Creating a booking:
    1. You will now see a page with a calendar. Select the date and time you will pick up your item(s) in the box to the right of the calendar.
    2. Make sure you are available to pick up your items at the time you select! A booking appointment is 30 minutes long, and your booking is automatically canceled at the end of the appointment. For example, if your booking is at 9:30 a.m., you have between 9:30 and 10:00 to pick up your equipment. If you do not pick up your equipment in the time frame, your booking is canceled at 10:00 a.m. and you will have to make a new reservation. 
    3. Click on How long can I book for? to see the loan period for the selected items (usually 72 hours).

    4. If you get an error message, make sure your selected start and end times are at an available time - Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m..
    5. Click Next when you are done. 
  5. Booking Details
    1. If you are checking equipment out for one of the numbered classes listed, please select your class. If it's for something else, select Other and enter your class or project in the space provided. This helps staff know how equipment is being used and better understand students' needs.
    2. Please enter your cell phone number so staff can contact you if needed. 
  6. If you are sharing gear with a classmate, include their name and contact information. The two of you will share responsibility for the booking.
  7. Terms and Conditions
    1. Make sure you have read the Terms and Conditions, and understand the Equipment Room Standards & Policies.
    2. Check the box to continue. 
  8. Verify your booking
    1. Review the details of the reservation. 
    2. To revise any information, click the Back button
    3. To finalize your reservation, click Submit
    4. You will receive an email confirmation, and the reservation details are accessible in your Connect2 account
