Choosing an Artist for your Essay/Musical Analysis

It is important to first select an artist that is respected within the field of jazz, and not to choose an artist who is only loosely associated with the art form. Prof. Anderson recommends looking through the following resources to help you find a suitable choice:

Required Text

Alas, there is no online version of your textbook, but a copy is available on Course Reserves in the Music Library. Ask for it by call number (ML3508 .D473 2011) at the Service Desk. Reserve material can be checked out for 2 hours at a time.

Overnight Reserve: Check out a Reserve book within the last 2 hours we are open and it's due within the first hour we are next open. For example, since the Music Library is closed on Saturdays, you can check it out after 3pm on Friday and it's not due back unitl 2pm on Sunday!
