Here is a rich text asset. You can put any text or html code in this asset type, but it is the only asset not available for re-use.
Using a bit of code, you can embed an audio or video link into this type of asset.
Here's the code I entered to embed the video below...
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" style="width:400px; height:300px;" data="http://www.youtube.com/v/pE0-BFEermc"></object>
You can also use this type of asset to add a catalog search or other widgets. Click on Reuse Existing Widget and search for the widget you'd like to use.
UNC Catalog Search:
Databases now exist as assets in LibGuides 2.0. This allows you to pull the database record automatically from the system, and will ensure that the record will be updated automatically if there are changes. You can add a custom description in the Custom Description box, or if you leave it blank, it will display the description from the library website.
A better name for this type of asset would "Items from the Catalog" since you are not limited by type of material. This type of asset allows you to create links to any item in our Endeca or Classic Catalog. Using the item's ISBN, you can link to a cover art image for that item as well. Once you retreive the information using the ISBN, you can delete any extra information you don't need or create a custom description of the item.
Link assets allow you to add lists of web links and non-web link items (unordered list). Simply give the link a name and add the URL.
A few films and movies I enjoy:
Using the Document / File asset, you can upload files for other users to download. Individal file size limit is 10MB.
Use this asset to add a list of links to guides within the system. You can search gudies by user, subject, group, or title.
In this box type, paste the link to an RSS feed to display news and updates from a website.
From "Discovery News":
Use this asset to create interactive polls on your guide.
Into which of the four houses at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry would you want the Sorting Hat to place you?
