Vick and Furlong live Chronicle SearchJulie Miller Vick and Mary Morris Heiberger began their Career Talk column for The Chronicle online jobs and advice site in 1998. In 2004, after Heiberger’s death, Vick was joined by Jennifer S. Furlong. In 2016, co-author Rosanne Lurie (senior associate director of career services for graduate students and postdocs at the University of Pennsylvania) joins their team.
Many of these columns provide advice for those seeking alternative academic careers or for those interested in a dual search for academic and altac positions.
