Finding Flute Music: Scores and Recordings

Before you start...

To increase the accuracy of your searches in the online library catalog, include the opus or thematic number of the work if it has one. To locate this number, search in the WORKS list under the composer's name in Oxford Music Online.

Listen to/Watch Music Online

See the Naxos Music Library and the Classical Music Library on the UNC Music Library's homepage to listen to streaming audio. You can create playlists and access them from off campus using your onyen. Some physical and streamed recordings contain liner notes that are a good source of information about the piece(s), performer(s), and composer(s).

Go to Medici.tv to watch concerts, operas, ballets, documentaries, and master classes. You will need your onyen from off campus.

Searching tips

The best way to search for scores or recordings is by ALL FIELDS (KEYWORD) using the most distinctive words in the author's name and work title.

You can also specify a particular performer.

Use the options on the left side of the results page to refine your search by format or other parameter(s): Music Score, Music Recording, Subject (Flute and violin music, Flute ensembles), etc.

If UNC-CH doesn't own the piece of music you want, search for it in:
