On Campus Access: Electronic resources are accessible on-campus. Faculty, students and staff must register personal laptops and mobile devices with UNC-Chapel Hill ITS.
UNC Hospitals Access: Always use links from Library websites. Onyen log-in is required when you first select the resource. Note: UpToDate is available within EPIC.
Off Campus Access: Always use links from Library websites. Onyen log-in is required when you first select the resource. Most electronic resources are accessible off-campus to students, faculty, and staff, including UNC Hospitals' staff.
Some resources, such as ClinicalTrials.gov, may not automatically have an Import filter in EndNote. You can search for individual filters on the EndNote website or add all additional filters through EndNote's filter zipped file.
Download and save the filter or folder of filters. Open your EndNote program folder. You should see a folder in it labeled Filters. Drag and drop the filter(s) into the Filters folder. The next time you import a file, these filters should be available to you.
Mac Users: When working with EndNote on a Mac, you must use Mozilla Firefox as your browser to enable Direct Export (automatic downloads) of references from electronic databases (PubMed, Web of Science, etc.) to your EndNote library.
Important: Check all citations for accuracy prior to sorting into groups.
Note: You can convert PDF files or folders stored on your desktop or an external storage device into EndNote references. The system utilizes Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) to capture bibliographic data, so this method will not work for older articles.
Important: Check all citations for accuracy prior to sorting into groups.
Author and Editor: Enter one name per line. Names can be entered either with the last name followed by a comma and the first name, or the first name followed by the last name. Enter full names whenever possible. If entering initials, place period or space between initials.
Edition: Enter as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.
