POLI 788: Methods, Research Skills, and Data usage in Social Science: Home

Research question

Populism and its impact on subsidies under EU Common Agricultural Policies. My current idea is to look at populist groups, movements, speeches, and manifestos, as well as changes in opinions (national votes, or EU-level votes by MEP) either publicly or through legislation, over the past two decades. I will also be looking at the history of subsidy spending to see if there were any cases in which far-right populist movements impacted subsidy spending.

Try to find a few articles or data points (public opinions, subsidy policy funding, voting) on the influence of populism on EU Common Agricultural Policies.
