University Libraries Learning YouTube: Home

What is in this Guide?

This guide contains almost all the information you will need to successfully create instructional videos at the University Libraries, broken down into sections.

UNC Library Learning is a YouTube account created to host instructional content. This channel hosts things like training videos, software instruction, database tutorials, and instructional videos created for courses. It is not intended to host promotional content or content created by the University Libraries Communications department.

UNC Library Learning YouTube videos are all created as unlisted videos, meaning neither the videos or the channel will be discoverable on YouTube. This allows content creators to oversee the distribution of their video content, embedding it in course sites, LibGuides, or sending it directly to users. This also prevents users from accessing outdated content or content that is no longer relevant to the larger institution.

UNC Library Learning credentials are shared with University Libraries staff after they have created a short video to demonstrate their understanding of the platform and its requirements.
