Accessing Mobile Health Apps at UNC

This page provides Access Instructions for mobile resources to which Health Sciences Library subscribes.  The following process will provide access to most of the apps, with app specific instructions below.

  • Typically, you will need to first create a personal account using the desktop version of the resource
  • Follow the directions given by either the app store of your choice OR the resource website itself
  • Renew your access periodically by either:
    • Logging into your personal account using the web browser while on campus or through VPN
    • Using the app while connected to the UNC Chapel Hill campus (NOT the Hospital) network

Please email an HSL Librarian if you need assistance.

DynaMed

Sign in with your Personal User account

You must create your Personal User Account while on your hospital network prior to authenticating the app. This affiliates your account with your institution’s subscription.

Tap ‘Sign In’ and enter your personal account credentials, then tap the orange ‘Sign In’ button

After downloading, you are prompted to install via one of the following options:

  • Online Only: use the app only while connected to the internet. This is a great option if you don’t want to use any space on your device.
  • Partial Install: store text and image thumbnails on your device. Full images are available when you are connected to the internet. This option helps you save space on your device.
  • Full Install: Store all DynaMed content on your device. You do not need to be connected to the internet to access the content on the app. This is handy if Wi-Fi connectivity within your institution is weak or you want to use the app when internet is not available, when using outdoors, for example.
