Known as the "father of flatpicking," Doc Watson transformed the perception of the acoustic guitar in blues, bluegrass, country, folk, and old-time music throughout his decades-long career. The purpose of this LibGuide is to help researchers understand the life and legacy of Doc Watson using the resources available at UNC Chapel Hill Libraries. This LibGuide was made possible through the support of the Martin Guitar Charitable Foundation. This guide was created by graduate student assistant Kensington Laube.
