Country Profiles and Comparisons

  • Bloomberg Law Privacy & Data Security Practice Center

    • This collection contains both domestic and international privacy law resources. Beyond its GDPR coverage (available via the GDPR-specific resource center described below), its international offerings include International Privacy Profiles surveying the privacy law landscape of 65 jurisdictions and Chart Builders for comparing international data protection and workplace privacy laws.
  • Westlaw Practical Law: Privacy & Data Security

    • Use the Jurisdictions filter on the left to narrow to non-US jurisdictions and specific countries or regions. Overviews of data protections and privacy laws are provided for over 40 countries, as well as many European Union resources.
  • Wolters Kluwer Global Privacy & Security Law Smart Charts

    • Wolters Kluwer's chart builder allows one to choose topics (including data protection, employment, and health privacy) across specific jurisdictions/countries to compare and then save, email, or export the results as a Word or Excel file. Charts include a citation and link to the relevant international law.

    • This free website seeks to aggregate and provide one search interface for the many different privacy-related Legal Information Institute databases worldwide. It allows narrowing of searches by world region and by content types including treaties, legislation, court opinions, and law journal articles.
  • Bloomberg Law In Focus: GDPR Resource Center
    • Bloomberg Law provides a comprehensive set of resources for those researching the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation, a single EU-wide data protection law which took effect in May 2018. The center provides access to the text of the regulation itself, Practical Guidance resources including many forms and checklists, implementation trackers, news, analysis, books, and treatises.
