How can I help you?

As Head of Wilson Special Collections Library's Research & Instructional Services Department, I lead a team of librarians and staff who work with researchers, instructors, and students to understand and access special collections, including items and collections related to history of the American South, North Carolina, UNC history, folklife and folk arts, and rare books and material.  We collaborate on courses with numerous instructors to develop primary source assignments and to introduce students to special collections and their research value.

Our research room is currently open by appointment:  https://library.unc.edu/wilson/visit/

I am always interested in consulting with researchers and instructors, discussing potential collaborations, and hearing from our community ways in which we can improve our services.

You can book a consultation here: https://calendar.lib.unc.edu/appointments/tomberlin or feel free to email me at jasont@unc.edu

As of June 2021, I am also serving as interim curator of the North Carolina Collection.
