Student Well-being Resources

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

CAPS provides brief mental health treatment – individual, couples and group therapy – as well as referral coordination, medication management and academic interventions to support students with mental health needs.

Student Wellness

Student Wellness fosters an environment that creates, emphasizes and supports healthy choices and positive decision making regarding health, safety and wellness. We do this by offering services, education and resources that help define what personal wellness looks like for you at Carolina.

Healthy Heels 

Healthy Heels is a collaboration that focuses on shifting the culture of campus to support health and wellness. Healthy Heels provides information, events and activities around campus with the goal of creating a campus that makes the healthy choice the easy one.

Carolina Collaborative for Resilience

The Carolina Collaborative for Resilience provides caring and compassionate support by pairing students with Resilience Coaches—a team of diverse faculty and staff who have received specialized training to connect students who may be coping with challenges related to race, identity and belonging to University resources and supports.

The Taking Care of Our Own Program
The Taking of Our Own Program (TCOOO) is a service offered to all physicians and housestaff at the UNC Medical Center who would benefit from convenient and confidential expertise in wellness and mental health.  We also provide educational services for departments or divisions within the School of Medicine.

Media Well-being Resources

Nurse Wellness Podcast- Wendy is a Nurse Practitioner, Stress Solution Strategist, Founder of the Nurse Wellness Mentorship and Creator of the Nurse Wellness Hub. This podcast is dedicated to empowering you to manage stressors and implement effective wellness practices so you can show up in the world the way you want to be seen.

Meditation Minis with Chel Hamilton- 10-15 minute short meditation exercises hosted by a licensed hypnotherapist

Trauma Therapist Podcast - Hosted by a mental health professional and featuring guests who specialize in trauma, this podcast has been putting out potent episodes about trauma and mental health since 2014.

Therapy for Black Girls- connects people with professionals qualified to best treat Black Americans, and offers thoughtful conversations about many mental health topics.

The Hilarious World of Depression- The guests on John Moe's show often tell stories for a living as entertainers, and here, they recount their clinical depression experiences with the same shot of humor and searing honesty that's helped get them through the pain.

The Happiness Lab- In "The Happiness Lab" podcast, Yale professor Dr Laurie Santos will take you through the latest scientific research and share some surprising and inspiring stories that will forever alter the way you think about happiness.

The Queer Wellness Podcast- While mainstream wellness spaces often leave queer and trans people out of the picture, the Queer Wellness Podcast is here talk about mental health, body-positive physical health, sex, relationships, spirituality, identity and more.
