Warrior-Scholar Project Research Guide: Home

Welcome!

Welcome to the research guide for the 2019 Warrior-Scholar Project! The resources gathered here are designed to support the research of program participants and enhance your understanding of the materials presented in the syllabus.

Finding Books

Start with a keyword search in the catalog. Once you have located a relevant item, you can look at the Library of Congress Subject Headings within the full record tab and follow those links to find related books. You can use this Location Guide to find books in Davis Library.

Here are some sample subject headings from the library catalog.

Tocqueville, Alexis de, 1805-1859 (search as a subject to find books about him; as author to find books by him)

Democracy -- Greece -- History

Reconstruction (u.s. history, 1865-1877)

For keyword searches, try:

federalism and madison

"civil rights" and rhetoric

reconstruction and civil war and race relations

Use the "search within results" checkbox to add keywords and increase specificity.
