Search Tips
Keyword Search
Use the "All Fields" option in the Library Catalog to search by keyword.
Subject Search
Once you have located a relevant item in the catalog, open the full record and look at its subjects. Click on a subject of interest to find related books.
Searching for Artists
- Use the keyword, subject, or author search in the Library Catalog to search by an artist's name.
- Try the Advanced Search option in the Library Catalog to search in multiple fields.
- Use the subject term "Exhibitions" to search for exhibition catalogs.
For example:
Subject: "Höch, Hannah, 1889-1978 -- Exhibitions"
Accessing Books Online
Search for Books Available Online
- Search for a book in the Library Catalog
- Use the "Limit your search" option in the left column to limit results to "Available Online"
Full Text Temporarily Available HathiTrust
- Some books are available online through the HathiTrust digital library
- To access these books select the "Full text temporarily available" button
- Select "check out" to use the book for one hour

Requesting Library Books
You can request items marked "Available by Request" in the library catalog.
Use the "Request" button to request items for pickup through Carolina Blu
