Online Statistical Information for the UNC Law Community

This website has a variety of data about religion, mostly through surveys and polls. Data can be searched or browsed topically. Users must agree to the terms of use before downloading, and some data requires specialized statistics software to access.

This website has results and reports based on the Pew Forum's surveys on religion. The main three categories of data are the U.S. Religious Landscape Survey (has breakdowns of religious faiths by denomination, demographics, and geography), Global Religious Futures (analyzes religious change and its impact around the world), and Religion & Politics (focuses on the intersection of religion and politics in election years). Users can also search the database of polling questions and access data sets directly (note: access to these requires agreeing to terms of use and providing some personal information).

[Available to UNC faculty, students, and staff] Provides web-based access to United States Census data from 1790 to the present, and to other U.S. and international data, with the ability to make tables and interactive maps easily or export data for analysis. U.S religion data includes the most commonly used variables and geographies.
