The UNC Libraries Library Data Services provides spaces, technology, and expertise to assist with all phases of research. There are three locations:
The Davis Library location supports investigation, analysis, and visualization in many formats for researchers interested in working with data, mapping, texts, and technology.
The Health Sciences location specializes in supporting researchers in the clinical and biomedical sciences at every stage of the research process.
The Kenan Makerspace, part of the BEAM network, features reservable co-working spaces, a design and modelling center and a makerspace equipped with 3D printing, 3D scanning, electronics, soldering and sewing machines.
Use UNC’s subscription to Lynda.com to find online tutorials for students to learn at their own pace (courses are divided into short video segments) and on their own time. Shorter (~30 minutes), moderate (~4 hours), and longer (6-12 hours) courses are available for Adobe software, general design principles, infographics, GIS, media production, and more -- you can search/browse thousands of tutorials--completely free for students, faculty, and staff.
