Geriatric Practice: Research

The Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing seeks to shape the quality of health care older Americans receive by promoting the highest level of geriatric competence in all nurses.

This center of the NIH provides both health information and research support. The health information section has pamphlets for consumers in English and Spanish, a page devoted to Alzheimer's Disease, and a list of current clinical trials. The research support section has information on the different divisions that support geriatrics research, grants and training opportunities, and NIH/NIA provided resources for researchers.

The mission of NINR is to promote and improve the health of individuals, families, communities, and populations. NINR supports and conducts clinical and basic research and research training on health and illness across the lifespan. The research focus encompasses health promotion and disease prevention, quality of life, health disparities, and end-of-life.

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation seeks to improve the health and health care of all Americans. Their efforts focus on improving both the health of everyone in America and their health care—how it's delivered, how it's paid for, and how well it does for patients and their families.
