You can use the LibCal tool in LibApps to create a custom calendar to make scheduling easier for you and your patrons. You can see examples of the scheduler widget in several Clinical Librarian profiles. You can also have a separate calendar website if you do not like the widget's pop up box. If you'd like access to LibCal, contact Beth Moreton or Chad Haefele.
When you go to the Widget/Embed code of LibCal, you will see several options to get links to your calendar.
If you click the menu for "Link directly to My Scheduler public page," you can get a plain URL to embed into your email signature or on a webpage.
Once you've set up your schedule, you can also generate a Widget code to make a button for your calendar appear in your profile. You will want to customize the button, however! There is a Widget Configuration menu where you can customize your code.
You'll want to edit the Button Text. Then, change the Button Text Color to #FFFFFF, the Button color to #4D93C5, and the Button Border Color to #4D93C5 to follow UNC's color scheme. Click Generate/Update code, and copy the text.
The text on the button and the colors of the button you'll need to change are highlighted below in the code.
Once you have the widget code customized, you'll need to go to your LibApps profile page. Switch the blue drop-down from LibCal to LibApps, then click My Profile in the center of the header bar.
Scroll down almost all the way to the bottom of your profile and paste your customized widget code into the LibCal Widget code box.
You can set LibCal to sync with your Outlook Calendar, so any appointments or meetings on your Outlook Calendar will be removed from availability in your LibCal Appointments. To do so, you will need to Authorize Microsoft to connect the accounts. Please contact Chad Haefele if you want to set this up.
You can set LibCal to sync with your Zoom account so any appointments will have a Zoom link inserted in them. To do so, you will need to Authorize Zoom to connect the accounts.
1. In LibCal, click your email address in the upper right corner. This should take you to a page to manage your account.
2. On the integrations tab, scroll down to the Zoom: Online Appointments & Events section. Click to Authorize Zoom, and log in with your credentials.
3. In the Appointments section, there is another Integrations tab where you can set Zoom to create a password for meetings. This setting is optional.
4. In My Settings, make sure your confirmation email to the patron includes the code {{{ONLINE_JOIN_URL}}} so they will be sent a link to the meeting. Your confirmation email to admin (you) should look like this:
Location:</strong> {{LOCATION}}{{#ONLINE_START_URL}} - This meeting is to be held online: <a href="{{{ONLINE_START_URL}}}">Start Meeting</a>
{{/ONLINE_START_URL}}
Make sure to save your settings!
