Health Informatics is a sub-domain of the broader field of Biomedical and Health Informatics (BMHI) that is concerned with the optimal use of information, often aided by the use of technology, to improve individual health, health care, public health, and biomedical research.

Health Informatics refers to applied research and practice of informatics across the clinical and public health domains.
