Olympic World Library
Library of the Olympic Studies Centre in Switzerland. The digital collections include official publications, journals, and selected dissertations. Some of the journals require a subscription for access; you can check to see if you have access through UNC's library.
The International Olympic Committee
The IOC is the non-governmental organization that organizes the Olympic Games. Its website includes highlights and official reports from past Olympics as well as documentation on funding, licensing, and other logistics.
South African Non-Racial Olympic Committee Archive
Selected papers of the South African Non-Racial Olympic Committee, which was formed in South Africa in 1962 and led the international sports boycott of apartheid South Africa.
Medals Per Capita
Searchable database that ranks nations by gold medals, total medals won, medals per capita, medals per GDP, and other variables.
Freedom in the World
Annual reports from Freedom House, a non-governmental organization dedicated to research on democracy, civil liberties, freedom, and human rights. Link is to current report, but earlier years are available.

Socialism on film : The Cold War and International Propaganda
Socialism on Film is a collection of documentaries, newsreels and features from Soviet, Chinese, Vietnamese, East European, British and Latin American filmmakers, sourced from the British Film Institute, and covering the period from the Russian Revolution to the 1980s. The collection consists of films produced almost exclusively in the communist world and later versioned into English for distribution in the West.

There are a lot of resources listed here and even more within the library's webpages. Don't get overwhelmed! You do not need to search them all. The resources in this guide are here to help you find material that is more tailored to the topics of this course. They may or may not be a perfect fit for your unique research needs. Try searching in a few new spots for each research project you do, stretch out of your comfort zone a little at a time, and always ask for help from a librarian if you have questions.
