Google Scholar offers two different types of citation alerts: document/article and author.
To create a citation alert for a specific article, click on the number of times it has been cited and then click on "Create Alert."
Citation alerts to all citations from a single author is only available for authors who have set up an author profile in Google Scholar. For those authors (author profile displayed at the top of results or an underlined author name in the results), look under the "Follow this Author" box on the left and click on the "Follow new citations" link.
You can set up your own Google Scholar profile to receive alerts on your publications and show citation metrics. To set up an alert for your citations, select "Follow new citations" from the appropriate checkbox in the "Follow"/"Following" menu of your own profile.
