Intellectual Property Law
Intellectual property--broadly defined as creations of the mind that come in the form of creative works, inventions or marks--is protected by a collection of overlapping legal regimes that includes Patent, Copyright, and Trademark.

Media Law
This guide is designed to familiarize users with the resources that may be used for conducting research into various areas of media law, such as Constitutional Law with First Amendment and Prior Restraint issues; Torts with defamation, invasion of privacy/right of privacy, and false light; Intellectual Property with copyright and trademark issues; Newsgathering with privilege/shield laws and public records/sunshine laws; and Administrative Law with FCC and FTC issues.
