Carolina Cooks, Carolina Eats is a new class and research project at the University of North Carolina-Chapel HillDepartment of American Studies that thematically explores the history and contemporary politics of food in five regions of North Carolina: the coast, eastern Carolina, the Piedmont, western Carolina, and a thematic landscape: the state’s borderlands.

Triangle Area Food Organizations

  • PORCH Communities Chapel Hill and Carrboro - PORCH is an all-volunteer, grassroots hunger relief organization whose mission is to collect and distribute food for families going hungry in the Chapel Hill and Carrboro community.
  • Table NC - TABLE's mission is to provide healthy, emergency food aid every week to hungry preschool, elementary, and middle school children living in Chapel Hill and Carrboro, NC.
