Gale Archives Unbound: Home

About this Guide

Gale Archives Unbound offers an array of subject-specific resources primarily derived from microfilm, tailored to scholars conducting academic research. Particular strengths in the Archive Unbound program include U.S. foreign policy; U.S. civil rights; and global affairs. In this guide, you'll find detailed lists of sub-collections belonging to various subject headings Gale has assigned to their databases.  Each sub-collection listed includes a description of the contents and a link to directly access the sub-collection from on or off campus.

Advanced Search

While there is not a built in way to limit your search to the particular topics/themes outlined in this guide, you can easily limit your search "By Collection" within the Advanced Search feature.  In the example shown below, the search covers three collections found within Archives Unbound:

  • U.S. Military Activities and Civil Rights: Integration of the University of Mississippi and the Use of Military Force, 1961-1963
  • U.S. Military Activities and Civil Rights: The Little Rock Integration Crisis, 1957-1958
  • U.S. Military Activities and Civil Rights: The Military Response to the March on Washington, 1963

However, you could also easily select all the databases assigned to a specific topic/subject to cover a wider range of material.
