As rock music entered the mainstream, rock artists of the 1970s diverged from the trending styles of the 1960s. These library resources demonstrate the unique contexts around the further splintering of rock music into what will become some of the leading sub-genres of contemporary music scenes, such as punk and hip-hop.
Jas Obrecht Collection, 1970s-2016
This collection contains audio interview recordings by Jas Obrecht for Guitar Player magazine. Some of the recordings include 1970s interviews with Country Joe MacDonald (FS-150, FS-151), Mick Taylor (FS-202, FS-203, FS-204), John Oats (FS-554, FS-555), and Paul Rodgers (FS-589). Of particular interest is Eddie Van Halen's first interview recorded by Obrecht on July 23, 1978 (FS-209).
Mark J. O'Donnell Collection, 1960-2018
This collection contains audio recordings of bootlegged live performances collected by Mark J. O'Donnell. Some of these recordings include rock artists, such as Elton John, Eric Clapton, Jackson Brown, the Clash, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Bob Dylan, the Eagles, the Grateful Dead, Joni Mitchell, and many others, during the 1970s.
Dick Waterman Photograph Collection, 1960-2003
This collection includes photographic negatives and proof sheets by Dick Waterman of the Rolling Stones on tour from 1970 to 1975 (PF-20533/206-233) and of Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy performing in London, England during 1970 (PF-20533/192).
