How can I support you?

How I can support your research projects:

  • Research appointments: via Zoom or in person. I can work with you to:
    • develop your research question and assess whether your project is feasible;
    • identify and navigate relevant information resources and research tools;
    • evaluate and interpret the information you find;
    • access materials beyond UNC, including from institutions abroad.

How I can support instructors:

  • Library workshops for your students, tailored to your assignments (in Davis Library or in your classroom). Students will get to practice:
    • developing a research question;
    • getting started with a research project;
    • choosing the right databases and other research tools;
    • finding and evaluating primary and secondary sources.
  • Individual or group appointments for your students to support them through the research project.

About me

Hello! My name is Kirill, I am a librarian in Davis Library. This means I know a little bit about many topics and I look things up for people for a living. I specialize in Slavic & East European Studies, Global Studies, and Linguistics, but I can help you get started on any research project in the humanities and social sciences.

I can work with you to navigate and interpret sources in Russian, Ukrainian, Czech, Slovak, Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, Polish, and, in a pinch, French, Hungarian, or Spanish.

Please feel free to book appointments with me as many times and as often as needed! I look forward to working with you!
