Wiley Online Library is a digital service providing access to ebooks and chapters that can downloaded to a phone, tablet, or computer as PDFs or EPUB files. Wiley Online Library’s Online Books Collection has a wide arrangement of nonfiction, scholarly monographs, and technical-scientific manuals.
Wiley Online Library’s Online Books Collection has over sixty subjects ranging from Accounting to Veterinary Medicine. Note that while Wiley Online Library does not have any fiction ebooks there is some popular nonfiction reading titles in the collection.
Access
The Wiley Online Library is available to UNC-Chapel Hill students, faculty, and staff with their ONYEN and password.
Users can access the platform for ebooks in two ways:
All access points will require that you log in with your UNC ONYEN and password. Be aware, it is not possible to sign into the Wiley Online Library directly. The above URL with the Library proxy must be used, and you will be required to enter your ONYEN on the UNC Libraries gateway, not at the Wiley Online Library before proceeding to the content.
Finding eBooks - Searching & Browsing
There are many ways to search or browse the Wiley Online Library’s Online Books Collection. The search bar at the top of the webpage allows keyword searches by book title, subject, author, and publishing organization. Directly below the search bar you can conduct an advanced search that will allow you to restrict the date range among other options. There is also a subject menu below the search bar which enables you to browse by subjects.
The homepage also features a “New to Wiley Online Library” gallery of titles Wiley Online Library is currently showcasing.
Borrowing and Reading eBooks
In order to read ebooks available in the Wiley Online Library’s Online Books Collection, all you need to do is select the book from the search results and download it! There is no need to borrow, or check out, the material. You can download the title as either a PDF or EPUB file depending on the title. Some titles are available for reading in your browser using the Wiley Online Library viewer.
Returning eBooks
There is no need to return ebooks to Wiley Online Library, once they are downloaded you can retain the PDF or EPUB copy indefinitely. You can also access ebooks saved in your Wiley Online Library viewer for as long as you are a student at UNC.

Special Features
Wiley Online Library’s online viewer allows you not only the option to download books, but to read them within the viewer itself. The online viewer allows you to adjust the font, alignment, and reading flow of the ebook you are reading. Additionally, an outline feature allows you to jump (hyperlink) between sections and chapters with ease. You can also search the entire book for keywords and phrases with the search function in the top right corner. The online viewer may not save your place in the ebook in between reading sessions if you close your browser—so be mindful!

Wiley Online Library does not have a central help or tutorial page like most services in the libguide. However, occasionally, you can search the Wiley Customer Success Hub for specific articles on the sites usage. That being said, you can also always reach out to a librarian for help navigating the site and its services!
