Using LibGuides: Using Images Ethically

Copyright and Images

With the recent implementation of the CASE act, University Libraries is encouraging content creators to review all images used in their LibGuides. Content creators should take care to ensure that all images are licensed for reuse and should remove any images without proper attribution to avoid being held liable for violations of copyright.

Questions regarding the CASE act and its impact on copyright law can be directed to Anne Gilliland, Scholarly Communications librarian. For more information, please see How Much of a Threat are Copyright Trolls?, published in American Libraries magazine.

Correct attribution practices are detailed at the Creative Commons blog.
