Borrowing Books & Other ResourcesAll UNC Hospitals staff have borrowing privileges at all UNC-Chapel Hill libraries. You can check-out books, videos, and other materials. You can also borrow equipment to use in the library.

Access to library online resources: OnyenYour Onyen will allow you to access UNC online resources (e.g., journal articles), use Wifi in the library and more.

UNC Eduroam WifiUNC Eduroam Wifi gets you online in the library and other non-hospital university buildings. To set it up, click on the link above and follow the instructions.

Reserve a RoomThe library has small group study rooms, classrooms, and conference rooms to accommodate meetings of 4-50 people
Searching and Accessing Information

E-JournalsTo search for a specific journal just in electronic format.
Use the catalog to search for both e- and print jouranls; some journal issues are only available in print. -
Library DatabasesSearch for articles using library databases, which contain citations for articles and other materials from many journals simultaneously, saving you time.

Library CatalogFind books & e-books, journals & e-journals, multimedia resources, and more.
- Book Delivery, Hold, or Recall
- This includes moving a book from any UNC-Chapel Hill library to the Health Sciences Library for convenient pick-up.
- Once you find an item that the library does not have, click the truck icon and
FREE Interlibrary Loan for items UNC doesn’t own (articles and book chapters typically delivered electronically via link in your email within a few days)
- You can come to the library to get articles available only in print at the library. Scanners available on the first floor of HSL to scan and email articles to yourself for free. Ask for help at the service desk.
